15 July 2013
This January Avtotor car factory based in Kaliningrad commenced with assembly of Korean F-class Kia Quoris sedans. And early in July the first batch of Hyundai Equus cars, which are assembled using the same rear-driven platform, rolled off the assembly line of the car plant. The overall amount of Equus cars Avtotor is planning to produce this year is 800 units; these are renewed vehicles that have been designed in 2013. There are almost no differences in the external design in comparison with the previous models, but the power unit of the car has been upgraded. The V6 3.8 Li engine is now able to gather up to 334 hp instead of 290, while the V8 4.6-liter engine will be replaced with the V8 5 Li power unit that develops up to 430 hp. The cars are fitted with the eight-speed automatic gearbox.
