Recently the new generation of Honda Accord sedan has been displayed in Moscow. Earlier the car model was featured in two modifications: a European modification, which is quite familiar to all Russian, and a US one, which is bigger and looks less like a sport car. However, there is only one modification in the new generation of Accord, and it is the US one, which is not going to go on sale in Europe, but only in Russia and the CIS states. In fact, the cars from the eighth generation are not shipped to Russia anymore.
As far as the size is concerned, the new Accord resembles Toyota Camry. Its 2.4 Li engine is now fitted with direct fuel injection and its power capacity has been reduced from 200 to 180 hp. The US car modification is furnished with CVT, but the modification for Europe comes fitted either with the six-speed manual gearbox or five-speed A/T. Also, the mint-new vehicle got a more powerful 3.5-liter 280 hp V6 engine, the same like that of Honda Pilot, which is coupled with the six-speed A/T.
Sales of the new Honda Accord in the United States started in September and the vehicle is scheduled to enter Russia’s market next February. The prices have not been revealed yet, but it was disclosed that this time the sedan will have many more added features like audio and video system with a large screen, photodiode dimmers, heated rear seats, back-eye camera, collision warning system, etc. Toyota Camry and Nissan Teana are believed to become its main competitors.
