Kaluga-based PSA-Mitsubishi assembly facility, which was opened earlier this spring, has commenced with production of Mitsubishi Outlander, Peugeot 4007, and Citroen C-Crosser crossovers. Until quite recently production plan of the car factory featured only Peugeot 308 and Citroen C4 hatchbacks, but now it has been also added with the above-named models. Prices for the Mitsubishi crossovers aren't disclosed yet, but it is already known that the French cars became cheaper. The starting price for a front-drive car powered by 2.0 Li 147 hp engine and manual gearbox is 919.000 rubles or ~$30.000. Earlier the similar imported Citroen cost 30.000 rubles (~$1.000) more, while the official Peugeot car dealers in Russia didn't have such car modification on offer at all. All vehicles at the Kaluga-based plant are produced via SKD assembly.
